Time in a bottle
I am having so much fun being a mama. Cliche or not, this time in my life is just so rewarding. It can seem horribly stressful and oh-so-dramatically frustrating to have 3 under 4 years old, but Man, when it's good, it's goooood! So, here's a snapshot of how I'd like to remember this time. Idyllic, ain't it?
Since my oldest just turned five in January, I now have three under five. Till then, I looked for those "goooooood" moments, and found them plenty! It's hard sometimes, but if this helps any, every single day they are getting easier and easier. I'm so sad b/c my youngest is 18 months old now, and he's starting to get more and more independent. I want him to stay a tiny baby forever....but, it is nice to be able to sit down for a few minutes a day now!
I am Gigi. And I am a Mama. Not necessarily in pajamas, but I like how it rhymes. You have to say it right, of course: pah jah mahs. It's not normally how I would even pronounce it, but eh, work with me people.
Kids Say the Darndest Things (Thanks to Vickie for this idea!)
+ Ben doesn't like to wear "skunscreen", but really wishes we could eat "smarshmallows" for dinner.
+ My current list of favorite things the boys say: "zizzors", "oven mittens", "binoculators".
+ Will calls Ella Rose "Gertie". We figured out he's trying to call her by the name Daddy uses--"Girly".
+ The Beatles song "Dear Prudence" is "Dear Bruce" around here.
+ Will calls underpants "un-ghees".
+ Around 18 months, Ben would substitute "gr" for the "j" sound. He would say things like "gringle bells" and "blue greens".
+ Will, bizarrely, adds "n-n-n" to the ends of some words. Like "button-n-n-n".
+ Ben calls Elmo's goldfish, Dorothy, "Dorflee".
+ When Ben hits Will, Will yells "I'm just a boy!" This is partly because formerly, Ben would hit, then repeat what we'd likely say to him about it "don't hit Will, he's just a baby."
